This lovely vintage filigree butterfly scarf clip was passed down to my mother from my great aunt. It is marked Germany and has three faux round stones, one larger center stone, with one smaller one on either side. After close inspection, we noticed that the "stones" were painted to appear to be semi-precious. There are also decorative marks on the gold tone filligree itself. The clip is 2" across & 1" high. The oval scarf clip itself is 3/4" x 15/16".
My mother was very creative in her use of scarf clips, and would use them on her handbags, berets, etc., as well as on silk scarves.
