As described in the Chase 1941 catalog: "This jelly dish has a two-compartment glass liner for two kinds of jelly; for example, green mint and red crab apple (cut a slice off the jellies so that the straight edges touch at the center). It can also be used for nuts or candy, or for olives and radishes."
