Royal Street New Orleans Print On Vintage 1800's Roofing Slate Artistic Sketches
This fun image of New Orleans looks like an old post card or print on the background of an antique roofing slate. The image is of the Royal Streets. The tile dates back from the late 1700s or early 1800s. The back of the tile has an explanation of the history of the tile and of the area featured in the picture. The piece measures about 11" x 9" and the sketch measures 8.5" x 6".  There is a loop of leather for hanging.
The piece is in very good condition, with a small chip on the back corner and rough edges around the front, especially on the left side, which I think are just part of the old tile. The sketch is in good condition with a little yellowing and a tiny edge missing. The bottom of the explanation says it was produced in New Orleans Artistic Sketches, Jefferson, La.
