    Description

    The Diver-UDT was designed by Scott Strong as a dive knife. Although Richmond listed the steel as HCS1718 it is believed the steel was actually 440C.
    I believe the knife was introduced during the Custom/Benchmade Period as the only Richmond paperwork I found for the knife is in the 1992 Benchmade Catalog. A year later the remaining unsold stock went to Blackjack when Ek Knives was sold to Blackjack in 1993.
    Note: If you encounter one of these knives that is not Effingham marked but has a gray micarta handle, or it has only 2 Cross-Head screws or the screws are unevenly spaced, it is a Blackjack issued knife.
    The sheath is a hard sheath, made of three pieces of Kydex bonded together. Kydex is a thermoplastic acrylic-polyvinyl chloride material commonly used for hard knife sheaths. It has two rubber leg straps, the longer one is 21 inches long, the shorter 15 inches long. Both have adjustable plastic side release buckles. The sheath was used exclusively for the DIVER-UDT Knife.
    Knife: Excellent plus condition with original factory edge. There are some light marks on the blade and brighter burnished spots on the guard from insertion into and withdrawal from the sheath.
    Sheath: Near mint condition with no issues. However the rubber leg straps are not original to the sheath. They are an upgrade from the original plastic leg straps by the previous owner.
    Box: No box or paperwork with this knife.
