Description
Say hello to Stormy! This ride was made in the late 40’s by King Amusement Co in Michigan making it one of the earliest coin operated kiddie rides. The mechanism was completely stripped down, cleaned and everything but the motor painted with catalyzed PPG automotive enamel. The belts were replaced and everything rewired to today’s standards. All of the old grease was cleaned out and new put in. The wooden base is an exact replacement of the original but made out of furniture grade maple plywood. It’s polyurethaned inside and out. Inside the base is an LED strip so the interior lights up when it runs and you can see the mechanism move through the center opening. The center section was color matched and painted the original base red. The stencils were scanned from the original base and are exactly what was on it new. Aluminum trim is original. The body was stripped to bare fiberglass and repainted with PPG basecoat clearcoat so it has a great gloss that is incredibly durable. The saddle and tack are all new and are leather. The coin box parts are rechromed and it plays off of quarters on a 75 second timer. It pays tribute to the original look with better materials and craftsmanship and is ready for the next 70 years.Local pickup only. Will work with your shipper. Shipping info: 22" wide, 48" long, 54" tall, approx 200#.
