Seldom seen, and extremely rare, fold-over promotional insert advertisement from
BILLBOARD
magazine (historically considered the Bible of the record industry)
These fold-over promo inserts are considered to be even more rare and difficult to locate than the regular Billboard advertisements in that (they) were affixed to the inside of the magazine via the use of a line of glue, and were in most cases, immediately removed from the magazine due to the fact that (they) interupted the smooth turning of the magazine's pages
Once removed from the magazine, these rare fold-over promo inserts were usually thrown away or discarded in a pile, never to be seen again (all of these promo fold-over inserts were published on a one-time, one-week only basis with an extremely limited copy run in effect)
TEXT ALONG THE LEFT SIDE FLAP AREA usually hypes the artist/release and sometimes reflects other information such as tour dates etc.
This 9"x 12" promo insert unfolds once to become 12"x 12" (some are slightly larger) FULL picture as seen in image #2
This rare fold-over promo ad insert was delicately removed from magazine many years ago and has been protectively stored ever since.
Except for a small thin line of glue residue on the inconsequential backside, this rare fold-over promo insert would be considered to be in mint condition
