Inspired by the ancient Khanjali daggers from the steppes of Eastern Europe, the GiantMouse GMF3 is an unexpected, but welcome departure from designers Jens Anso and Jesper Voxnaes. Sure, it looks “different.” But that’s just fine, because it works well and feels great in hand.
To maximize the “tool” potential of the GMF3, they went with a straight-back blade with a full flat grind, with jimping in just the right place for pressing on the blade spine while cutting. The dramatic fishtail on the handle locks into your grip, and the integrated dual guards keep your fingers safe from the keen edge. To make the GMF3 a more versatile indoor/outdoor tool knife, they chose canvas Micarta for the scales to provide a secure grip even in wet conditions. For those who would rather go Au Naturel, the scales are easily removed to make a fantastic skeleton knife. The sheath for the GMF3 is a no-nonsense leather affair, handcrafted in Italy. It works equally as well with or without the scales on the knife.
