Description
This must have been a popular item as it was sold by Chase from 1936-1942, designed by Russel Wright. The ad read: This shining Cocktail Ball is for serving cocktail sausages, fish balls, shrimps, olives wrapped in bacon, and other hors d’oeuvers on toothpicks. Condition is very good. It has some light scratches and scuff marks, I tried to make them visible in the photos but with a round object that reflects everything around it, it’s a challenge. There is some discoloration at the bottom edge right next to the rubber foot. The foot is in very good shape. One of the toothpick holes has a teeny amount of chrome loss at it’s edges. Very hard to see. Also included is the Olympia Saucer which was sold with the cocktail ball and a variety of other products. It’s condition is good, more scratches than the ball, and that is expected as a saucer’s surface is more subject to wear. There is one ½” area in the recessed area around the center that has some spotty white marks. No dings or dents to the saucer or ball. Both pieces have the Chase mark.
