CHASE CHROME ART DECO DORIC COCTAIL CUPS  – White base Barware

Description

The Doric cocktail cups were designed to go with the Doric cocktail shaker, which comes with either a blue or white top and the plastic base of the cups were made to match. They were produced only from 1938-1940. We have 4 of the white base cups, but one of them needs to be repaired as the foot has separated from the cup. The exterior of all the cups are very good, with only a few light scratches, and minor scuffs. One of them, where the base joins the chrome shows some tiny lighter spots right at the joint, and there is a tiny bit of rust around that joint. See the photo with the one cup on it’s side at an angle. Another one appears to have been repaired at the joint as the cup is very slightly off perfectly horizontal at the top, and it appears there is a clear substance, maybe epoxy, around the joint. You can see the very slight tilt in the second cup from left in second photo. Then the fourth cup which is in two parts. I decided not to try to glue it together as the cup and foot do not mate perfectly. Possibly a small amount of filing on one part of the joint is in order to make a clean joint. The interior of all the cups is nice and clean as you can see from the ‘overhead’ photo. There are two small shallow dents in the bottom of the cup that was glued, but they do not show from the outside, which would be the lower edge of the cup. The foot of the two cups that are in best condition do ‘spin’, which appears to be the normal condition as we have some other Dorics which do the same thing. All the cups are marked on the bottom.
