The jacket is being sold as used but to my knowledge has never been worn. It has been stored away in the closet of a long-time racer until now. My understanding is that Briggs Chevrolet sponsored a “Chevy Day” event at Old Bridge Township Englishtown Raceway Park, NJ back in the 1970-80’s era & presented winners with these jackets. Back in the day, Briggs Chevrolet sponsored many racers & race cars such as “Jungle Jim” Lieberman’s Camaro funny car & the Ray Allen Truppi-Kling SS/EA Championship winning 1970 Chevelle LS6 convertible & John Greenwood Corvettes & others.
Please note that the jacket has NO DIRECT CONNECTION with the racers & drivers mentioned.
The navy-blue nylon jacket with red & white striped arm sleeves is size LARGE & is excellent condition with no stains, rips or holes. The ‘Briggs Chevrolet day Winner’ back side of the jacket is embroidered. The Raceway Park Englishtown N.J. identification on the front is a sewn on cloth patch. Very cool piece for wearing or framing. From a smoke free home. Additional details are as follows:
