Benchmade Blackwater Nimravus NEW IN BOX! 2005 paperwork dated. 154CM black tanto combo-blade, catalog ID: 16141BT.
Please look at the photos because this knife is beautiful with only one tiny mark in the finish. The jimping (thumb grip) on the back of the blade shows the tiniest bit of polish/wear from contact with the locking mechanism on the sheath (the red arrow in the last photo points at this mark). The box shows some buffing on the corners from rattling around with other items in shipment. The cutting edges of the blade are absolutely flawless. The original and discontinued plastic sheaths were susceptible to cracking at the rear screw, but this one is still perfect.
Remember the War on Terror using a huge number of private contractors as boots on the ground? This knife comes from that historical time, when the Blackwater firm was contracted for security in Iraq. In turn, Blackwater contracted knives from a couple top-of-the-industry knife manufacturers, and this is a beautiful example from Benchmade. I've had it locked up since I received it about 15 years ago.
